Mission

Students Playing Jazz Berks Jazz Jam is a monthly opportunity for students to play jazz in a live setting, while honing their improvisation skills in a supportive environment.

Jazz Jams are held the second Wednesday of every month. Mark the dates on your calendar!

Next Jam: Twin Valley High / Wednesday, May 1

The nest Berks Jazz Jam is set for Wednesday, May 1, at Twin Valley High School.
Mike Eben and his Berks Jazz Jam crew will be joined by dynamic pianist Andy Roberts and his quartet.
Pianist/composer/arranger Roberts arrived at his approach to music and composition thru the absorption of musical styles from disparate eras. His influences range from jazz greats Fats Waller, Bud Powell, and Chick Corea to rockers like Professor Longhair and Rick Wakeman.
Mark your calendars and make plans to join in the musical fun!

The Berks Jazz Jam is your chance to perform with the pros and get valuable advice on things like:
Improvising; playing different musical styles; performing as a unit; listening to each other; listening to recordings; reading chord symbols; keeping track of your place in a song, and many more aspects of being a jazz musician.

The Jazz Jam also has a growing library of books, CDs and DVDs that you can borrow!
